Establishing a regional transportation hub

New transport link

With the arrival of the Hokuriku Shinkansen, Komatsu is aiming to establish itself as a regional transportation hub, capitalizing on the high-speed rail connection and Komatsu Airport, an international gateway.

Convenient connection

By establishing a smooth transport link between the city’s main airport and shinkansen station, the municipality aims to improve convenience for travelers and boost foot traffic into the urban center, driving growth and revitalization across the region.

Commercial services

Following pilot tests on a route linking Komatsu Station and Komatsu Airport, full-time services using TIER IV’s Minibus began operating at Level 2 in March 2024.

In March 2025, the system received Level 4 certification for fully driverless operation on public roads.
